SANTA MARIA PARTNERSHIP SUMMARY Nov.3_Page_01.jpg

The Santa Maria Hispanic Education Fund is dedicated to helping Latino families who are seeking a Catholic education bridge the tuition gap, and successfully afford the gift of a Catholic education for their children.

Established in 2020, the Santa Maria Hispanic Education Fund operates under the sponsorship and tutelage of the Archdiocese of Washington. The Santa Maria Fund is working with Our Lady of Lourdes, St. Martin of Tours Catholic School, St. John the Evangelist, and St. Mary's Catholic School. These are all co-educational elementary schools of the Archdiocese of Washington.

Our Approach

The Santa Maria Hispanic Education Fund seeks to build on these families' strengths, and the scholarship funds are meant to be a source of pride for the families and bear witness to their commitment to provide the best education for their children.

Why do we focus on Hispanic families?

Latinos represent 40% of the Catholic church in the US. The Santa Maria Fund seeks to cultivate Hispanic success and leadership.

Who decides which family qualifies for the Latino Scholarship Fund?

The leadership of each school, along with the Catholic Schools Office of the Archdiocese of Washington, do everything in their power to help as many families as possible. They decide who is awarded scholarship funding based on their own financial need criteria, merit, parish participation, and commitment to a Catholic education for their children.

Are donations to the Latino Scholars Fund tax deductible?

Yes, the Fund is sponsored by the Archdiocese of Washington and all contributions are tax deductible.
